Game issue - DEFCON sound is not working.

Before you tell me this is the wrong forum, I've asked everywhere I think I could.

1. The DEFCON steam Forums.
2. I emailed the company who designed the game and got no reply so far.
3. Friends have been unable to help.

None of which has provided any answer. Maybe I'm just an impatient bastard.

When I start up this game, the audio does not work, at all. Sometimes it'll give that pop sound you get when you plug in earbuds, or a faint text-scroll sound. But nothing else. This issue seems to have come out of absolutely nowhere. Im thinking I may have accidentally messed with a setting, but Im not sure what.

Right click the game in your library > Properties > Local Files >>> Verify Integrity...

It said everything was verified. But Im still having the issue.

However, something seems really weird. When I install the game, it only takes two seconds to install, and when I looked in the game files myself through the steam directory, theres little to nothing there.

For anyone having this issue in 2023... I fixed it by using the left/right arrows instead of writing a value in the Master Volume field
