How fix games launching at low resolutions?

When I install a game it always launches it at 4:3 or 720p, instead of 16:9, 1080p.

Make sure the game's reso setting matches your vid card's reso setting and see if it helps.

How do I do that with AMD?

Do you then go into the game's video options and *change it*?

Are you positive that your games are running via the video card, and not on an onboard chipset instead?

Yeah thats what I always do, I go into the settings and change it. But I want games to launch automatically to my monitors res and ratio.

That is not possible. If a developer wants to launch a game at a specific aspect ratio or resolution, there is nothing you can do. Usually it's done for compatibility reasons as automatic resolution detection doesn't always work properly.
Also, you only need to change that once after installation.
