Screen Flickering *SOLVED*
As the title says... my screen is flickering alot whenever on a image. Something has to be moving on the monitor for it to not flicker. I checked driver updates, switched monitors, switched graphics cards. None of these is the issue. The flickering looks like a line from one side of the monitor to the other side. The only problem I see now might be the motherboard, but am not sure. Any suggestions on what the problem is?

it most likely has something to do with one of these:

Your Graphics Card
Your Operating System

ive had this exact problem 6 TIMES because my computer is a piece of crap and the way to fix it is:

If it's a graphics card issue, you'll most likely have to replace it. if your computer isn't Modular, then you'll have to get a new computer.

if its an Operating system issue, then just update your Operating system to the newest version.

If you mean this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_tearing
Use V-sync
Its not screen tearing (though I wish it was)... it is more of a flash of several black lines across my screen. Again this happens only on images and doesnt appear when playing games (unless that game is not doing anything or freezes on a screen).

be sure your chord isnt loose a little, one of my side computers flickers while im not using it until i start using it but its due to a loose dvi cable in my situation. check your hdmi, vga and or dvi port and secure its connection otherwise it could be the monitor

I checked my chords too... New graphics cards, new monitors, and it only happens on my main monitor (Dell 2k 155hz 29in monitor)

you replaced your gpu you said right? not sure if you did it yourself or someone else, be sure it is securely fitted within the pci slot! otherwise i would want to say a gpu problem? if you still have the old gpu you can always put a different one in and see if it still flickers or not, if it flickers with another gpu then its a whole new topic sadly.

okay well hope for the best because that flicker can be something as big as a bad gpu to something minor like a lose cable to the windows drive. always be sure to unplugg your power chord from the pc and then securely install all your hardware and check all chords. usually i press down on all my pins ever time i open the case to assure there isnt one lose cable :) hope your pc works with new mobo
