Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mouse cursor issues Valve!
This sh*t has been going since the last update. The mouse active hover location is far away from cursor's actual location. This occurs in the entire client except for the library. I have to deal with so many active tabs while I'm not actually hovering over them and when I do want to check something by hovering over it, I have to do some math around where the mouse is gonna be in the screen right now. Highlighting the text is the worst part of this issue. They need to fix this sh*t asap.

I tried it ,and it looks like it solves the issue with the cursor displacement.
Everything works now like a charm with 125%dpi.

+1
wow i thought i was the only one with this awful problem. I figured out myself it has something to do with the dpi scaling. im using 125% for its better for my eyes..
There is also a glitch in the library when you uninstall a game with 125%dpi, steam will not display the confirmation window correctly ,where you are asked if you really want to delete all game files or abort the uninstallation. You cant click on anything, so steam becomes unresponsive and you have to kill the client in the Taskmanager...!!

+1. How could valve not fix it on the newest update?

Considering it took more than 2 weeks for people to respond to this thread, it is possible that you guys are being effected by an extremely rare bug that Valve hasn't been able to duplicate in order to figure out what is wrong in order to fix it.

I have this problem much longer than two weeks now.I remeber it first occured with an steam update half a year ago maybe. I read the patchnotes and it said they implemented windows dpi scaling support for steamapp. But it seems to get even worse with every new update. I googled alot but didnt find any thread for this strange problem until now. Finally!!. It seems though it is not a rare bug but a general problem with the dpi scaling and under windows 10. the mouse cursor seems displaced for not scaled correctly ? idk. i hope they will fix the problem soon, now that more people are having the issue!

Not everyone uses a scaling above 100%,so of course not everybody is affected by this

This issue has been plagueing the client for months the beta branch. I had rolled back to main client but now the beta branch was merged into stable and some steam functionality is impossible to use because it relies on hover location. Mouse down events trigger properly, only mouse movement is messed up. Since steam is using V8 to render those pages I assume it has something to do with that (because scaling the page does not break the page through the browser and they are essentially using the same codebase for both).

Oh and it's definitely caused by Windows 10 DPI settings. Changing them back to 100% default works.

I don't think it's rare or hard to reproduce, if you are using windows 10 (maybe other versions too) and dpi scaling - you're affected. And I'm pretty sure that most people who are using displays with a resolution above 1080p are using it, and likely those who have problems with eyesight.

Also valve is slow and 2 weeks are nothing, they can easily take years to fix trivial problems. Just look at this forum, it's still optimized for 4:3 displays which are like a decade out of use.

Kinda surprised that many people are finding this thread now, But it's not still fixed anyways...

I had today for the first time, solved with: Steam-Settings-Downloads-Clear download cache
Don't know for how long but after that everything is ok. Using beta.

+1. Still an issue. For me it's just that stupid circle when I right click on the Steam tray icon. Wasn't an issue 3 weeks ago.

Not the mouse dpi. It's the screen dpi. You can set your screen to 720p and it fixes the issue. But srsly, 720p? It's a torture...

i have the same problem with the last few patches still no fix from valve.
the linux edition works perfect fine btw.
Oh The Folly Nov 28, 2018 @ 2:06pm
I have 125% DPI on WIndows 10 beacause I need it to see things properly, and I have all the problems described in this thread.

I also cannot scroll normally on store/forum pages in the Steam client. If I click and hold on the the bar along the left side and drag the mouse up or down, nothing happens. Nothing at all.

My only option to scroll is to roll the mouse wheel up or down, or click the arrows on the bar a million times. Neither of which is anywhere near as fast or convenient as just simply being able to click on the freaking scroll bar and drag it around.

I guess that saves me money though because it makes me avoid the store like the plague.

The scroll and other problems in this thread have been around for at least a couple updates now, and this last one still did not fix any of them.

When will these things actually be fixed?
Oh The Folly Nov 28, 2018 @ 2:12pm
Double posting to say that I cannot even edit a comment. The mouse cursor being off is making it so I can't use Delete, Edit, or the other button between those. When I try to click any of them them they just disappear and nothing happens.

I literally can't find a way to delete or edit a comment. This is even more broken than I realized. And for such basic functionality to be broken, over several updates, is really, really, bad.
