is ds4windows good
i recently bought a ps4 controller so i can use it on my laptop. i am using the controller by connecting a usb wire to my laptop

i am using the steam controller support when i play steam games. i also will play non steam games and for those i will completely exit steam and i will run ds4windows. i know that i can add non steam games to steam but i dont want to do that because some external games can mess up steam

also i dont want to use scptoolkit because the scptoolkit drivers will lock the bluetooth and i wont be able to use bluetooth for something else on my laptop

i ran some tests on ds4windows. so far so good and there are no issues. i am using version 1.4.52 by jay2king. i want to ask is it good and i can keep it running the whole time and it wont freeze or crash my computer? the old versions of ds4windows caused crashes and people used to say that it's bad

also i found out about the ryochan version of ds4windows. is it better than the jay2king version? or both are the same?

That version of DS4windows by Jays2Kings hasn't been updated for 3 years and I know of some games which do have problems with it.

Depending on what games you play, you may want to consider the forked version at https://ryochan7.github.io/ds4windows-site/ - this version is updated and you may find has better compatibility with more recent games.

ok. thanks for the warning. i switched to the ryochan version

i will rephrase my question. is the ryochan version stable and i can keep it running the whole time and it wont crash or freeze my pc? it's still under development and he's fixing bugs but they should not be serious enough to mess up windows. is that right?

also does the ryochan version support recent games and old games?
