Horizontal screen tearing with the new UI
This is the second or third post I made about this but no one official has gotten back yet. Ever since the new UI update I have a screen tear when I scroll at about the top first quarter. It is also constantly visible when watching trailers. This is ridicoulus, I never had this issue before, and this combined with the various other issues of the new UI just makes me wonder what those people at valve have been working on these past years. supposedly they spent quite some time fine tuning this update, and to read post after post of issues with it just makes me see Valve as a company who doesn't care if their updated product is crap, as long as it shouts more advertisement into the users face and makes the easily manipulated buy more junk they don't need.

Getting more and more fed up with this kind of customer interaction (aka: none)

What settings do you have checked in Steam > Settings > Interface?

All those extra checkmarks are unchecked, as I noticed that , also since the new update, steam uses a bit more ram. now I'm sure most people won't even notice it, but since my money doesn't grow on tree's I can't just yet afford an upgrade to my 8gb of ram, so some games have shown slow downs and issues whith steams 6-10 webhelpers constantly running.

The tearing is from your graphics hardware, it can't keep up.
The client doesn't tear in general.
Make sure you have all the dependant Windows stuff update. .NET. Visual C++. Chrome.
As well as drivers for graphics card.

Alright, I will double check today to make sure I got all the packages and drivers to be up to date. Thanks for the quick replies from both of you, I guess my first time posting must've just drowned under the wave of people posting with complaints about the new UI
