"What's New" section gone from Library?
Is there a way to re-enable it? I don't know why or when it disappeared, but I can't make a new shelf with that category of news/updates, nor do my settings or the "view" section shine any light on this missing section.
Well, at least the original normal activity feed is still a thing.

The "What's new" is just updates about new stuff for our games. Once there is a new update for any of your games it should be restored.
But you could try exiting Steam using Steam top left corner exit.

Hmm, no, seems more like a bug, a few of my games got big updates within the last 12h, and still I don't see a "What's new" section in my library home view :/

Did you modify any of the games like right click remove or show less> I think there is about 3 or 4 options.
Also I haven't used the Beta did you opt in to beta could be a problem there so I cant add anything else to that. If you're using the Beta ask in that discussion.

Didn't modify any game, only learned of that feature about right-clicking for more or less news after the section disappeared from my library, and I'm not using the beta branch :(

Got this bug myself from a momentary bad internet connection/update I suspect, steamstat.us seems to suggest somethings up. None of my settings should have caused it and no beta branch/news removing etc on my part. Hope it comes back sooner than later as I do like to stay up to date on my games.

I have a theory about why is gone. I have steam beta version and there is something they are working on and it looks like a new version of what's new with more details. They might have disable it so they implement the new version. IDK. What's new section is gone for me too.

Back when I had this issue I wasn't in the beta branch.
And it did come back, after some time, I had forgotten about this topic until now.
It's a bug, and I don't know what it's tied to, I don't think anyone knows, and it just returned back to normal after days of restarting and going about my business as normal, with no sign of what caused it to vanish in the first place or just come back like nothing was wrong.

Mine disappeared a couple of days ago too. I did not change any settings on the Library page. I hope this can be fixed soon.

Going Offline seems to remove it.
Click on the Home at the top of the library games list.
Mine is intact and currently showing news from this week.

Mine disappeared sometime in the last couple days for no reason. Switching out of the beta doesn't help.

Mine disappeared a few days ago when the store and community side of steam went down. Have not been able to find out how to get it back.

I have the same issue. what's new has vanished and it's been gone since steam went down the other day I think. I've tried clicking on various things and nothing I do will restore it.

Have you tried full Exit Steam using the top left Steam or rightclick Steam bootloader on the taskbar and exit.
Other than that I have no idea mine is working fine shows todays updates but I also exit Steam proper everyday not just close it down.
Maybe deleting web cache and steam downloads cache not cookies log in again.
