Can't Create Steam Account (Please verify your humanity...)

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend as an existing account is needed to post here and neither she nor I am able to successfully create her an account.

Every time we fill in the email, complete the reCAPTCHA check and click the Valve Privacy Policy box, after hitting "Continue" we get the error "Please verify your humanity by re-entering the characters below."

There are no "characters" to be entered, for starters, since the reCAPTCHA is some picture matching challenge not a text box. Secondly, we've completed it successfully, resulting in the green checkmark appearing next to "I am not a robot", and it still doesn't work. We've attempted this on multiple browsers with the same result about a dozen times.

I am having the exact problem. Also, have no luck with using the clients. I have tried it on both windows and mac and all have the same problem.

yeah, also had this recently.
The new account creation page with the captcha is made so poorly and sloppy its a disgrace.
It ended up working after like a million tries but making an acc should take max. 30 seconds not 30 minutes

A friend of mine is also having the exact same problem... Have been trying to create an accoutn for over a week without success :( Please fix your account creation client, Steam!

Enter an email, not from a fake generated service.

Re-enter same email again.

Click the box and wait until see check mark.

Scroll to bottom, check the box to verify you agree to the terms, then click continue.


If having issues clear cache, and cookies.

I had the same issue, turns out if you have a VPN you will get this issue. Turned mine off and it worked. Hope this helps

LOL for me it was the other way around, not kidding... first tried without VPN, then with the proxy/vpn that is built in into a browser... it still doesnt work for me unless I use that browser, with the proxy/vpn enabled, very weird.

also try with a public email adr. like gmail or hotmail or live.
some isp local email (isp mail can be a issue if they dont made it right or have been a issue with some server ) i have seen confimation mail never got to me, and that is odd. change email and then it worked.

did it on my phone and it worked
