I cleared up 55gb of storage to download payday 2 but it has already taken up all my space when it said it has downloaded 13gb
It has become impossible for me to download any game from steam since no matter how much space I clear up it always takes up more space than it says. I dont really have much left to uninstall since my laptop only has 250gb storage

Steam allocates space before downloading, so your game should be installed just fine.

That's weird.

You need to create more space. The download is compressed and needsto be unpacked. You need around 60GB, I believe.

You'd do good to invest in a bigger hard disk. It's never a good idea to fill it up completely.

Have you tried running a disk clean up before starting Steam ? (maybe also clean up old Steam file if possible (?) )
Otherwise , I am not sure , but maybe Steam will let you install your games on an USB drive ???

This excellent free tool should help you find out where the disk space are going : https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

There is also a program for Steam cleaning though I can not vouch for this program ..

payday 2 needs more then double of what it says on the store page, the dlc was not included in the min file size, and theres a ton of dlc added to the game that now comes with the game.

edit-payday2 has a file six of 96gb for me, and thats with all dlc

I use WinDirStat, and it says Im using up 185gb of my storage space even though my system says i have used up 250gb. I cannot find what is taking up all my storage. I have 2 games installed, League of legends, Dauntless, both of them taking up less than 10gb.
