Game opens on 2 monitors, appears frozen on one, displays on the other, but only interactive on frozen monitor.
Alright I have an insanely weird problem. When I open Geometry Dash, all of a sudden it started to do this: it would open on main monitor normally, then it would freeze on that monitor, the game would appear on the monitor on my left and won't be frozen, but clicking stuff on that monitor doesn't do anything. I have to GUESS where the buttons are on my main monitor where the game is frozen and look at the monitor on my right where the game is actually being displayed. HOW TF DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN?! I tried re-installing it as well. Putting it in windowed mode so far is the only thing that "works" but I'd rather not play it in windowed mode for the rest of my life. How do I fix this, any suggestions?! :(((

Your using Clone desktop setting?
Iceira May 10, 2019 @ 2:12pm
sounds like Main view has been made second view now, see Nvidia controll panel who is in front
if this is AMD graphic card then i dont know.
and if this is clone screen then its most be buggy combination with Geometry Dash that i dont know anything about.

only in one game i was told by dev support that clone with telly/monitor actual hurt 60hz games was to old and it went into 30hz, but other then that never seen that before, you might want to unplug 1 monitor get that into main and flip around and get other into main, seen that before this is hell then one of them is in second view , but you will get this right then you understand it and need other monitor to swap who is main and who is second. well i solve it that way force my way through it, and it dont help in my case then both monitor was same model/type why i struggle with it. not sure what trigger this swap around it has never did that again. ( possible a driver update or windows core update )

Interestingly enough, it somehow stopped doing this just some random time I opened it. I have no idea why it decided to go back to normal, I had not done anything between opening last and this time but it works and It's worked after opening a few more times. Thanks for the help though, I'll come back to this if it starts to happen again.

I'm not using cloned desktop. The game appears frozen on one screen but only reactive on that screen, but appears not frozen on the second screen but not reactive on that screen. So I have to figure out where the buttons are on the main screen by looking at the second screen where it's not frozen. :|

i use to have a old 17" monitor, and i think its more a wake up monitor screen if graphic card dont send wake up or monitor has issue with its wake signal that came from graphic cards. and yes you guess it you need sparepart to figure it out. ( most normal people dont have extra gfx card or monitor as spare ) im not saying you have that but something is cause this.

you can also try the digital cable many forget that and use old vga with adapter ( just watchout there are diffrent kinds and they almost look same with few pins needed or not there. )
as i recall there was 3 but maybe i remember wrong here.

I'm using an RTX 2080 but I have a spare RX 580 (and I'm using three monitors and the issue seems to happen on only two of them)

only clue i got from above was reboot ( all depend if monitor was enter sleep mode ) this was old issue i also had. and i still think its because its very old gear to a old pc 8years + gear possible fail in one of them best solution was never found but it seem to indicate blow dust away and replug cable and then it work again. not sure this is the case with your gear. but its better to know then as you struggle with it until you figure it out.

i think i did contact Nvidia support back then, it was something about brake clone and start again from scrates, but in your case you dont need or want clones, so its main at center as i recall it and monitor 2 is behinde and left corner as i recall you dont want it at side because then its double view as i recall it.

but yeah it is as you had it now i had same issue way back , and you have no clue what screen and if you reboot black screen because its wong monitor.

as i try to explan to you i has to force monitor 1 only and get them back at main, brake them up as main primary only and start again you can do that in Nvidia controll panel view and select stand alone screen

but welcome to that odd bug that dont make any sense its same i got years ago, and never seen it again.

you need to reset it as i dont want 2 monitor work together, and then do it again from scrates.
from fresh boot as 2 monitor just has been added as Main and then you change it

I fixed it! (for now) seemed it was an issue with the new nvidia drivers. I rolled back a driver and it works fine now. Hopefully they get that fixed in the next update. Thanks for the help. I'll come back here if the issue starts happening again. Thanks!

I basically uninstalled the latest drivers update for my graphics card. For some reason the newest drivers had some bugs. Either that or try and update your drivers if they're not up to date.
