has someone tried mimicking a bot profile? or are those friend requests from bots themselves?

They are mainly just bot accounts scammers use.

There are a few sickos out there doing it for fun.

Then there are traps, a very different thing altogether.

Make your inventory private may help.
My rule of thumb never accept any friend invites if you don't know them.
Have never seen them around Steam.

Also, CS-GO group. That's like screaming "scam me".

I accept every invite and ask why did they add me. Adding a person won't hurt you, unless you do something really stupid like following a scam link then entering your login information on on a fake page.

I second. Theres a difference between caution and paranoia and all too often, people root for paranoia. That's dumb as it removes options and can even be a danger in itself. This guy here roots for caution, follow the advice, everybody!
