The EU, UK and lower 48 have very many different cultures and languages.
C'mon valve, get your head in the game! (no pun intended) You just lost a customer because of this. How many more are you going to lose?
Also, long shipping time for returns is seriously not an excuse. I never had any item shipped from the United States that ever took more than 1 week to get to my home.
I really feel your pain. You know what really upsets me? It’s not the fact that Ive been working overtime and pulled a few 60-70 hours weeks just for the Index, but the fact that I just recently purchased a $3000+ rig for the sole purpose of being able to run the Index at its full capacity only to find out that not only is the headset not available for pre-order in Canada, but also that there’s a high chance that it won’t even be available until maybe last quarter of 2019 in Canada. So, yeah, I’m upset that I have a VR ready rig with no VR headset that I won’t be really using until maybe 6 months from now. This is not just a slap in the face, but rather a spit in the face and for good measure a kick in the groin. It is what it is, patience until Canadian release.
The fact they didn't do this is so monumentally stupid, I cannot even begin...
Still, they should make this information public at the very least. Whether it's tucked away in the news page, or straight up on the index page itself.
I wanted a new entry level VR. I was willing to pre order this.
But the fact that they didn't even so much as make a statement about Canada means I will just get the Rift S.
It will damage my wallet a lot less and Oculus will probably rip off the Index controllers in their own way sooner or later anyways.
"As of right now, Steam Support does not have any information regarding the future availability of the Steam Index in Regions outside of the US and EU.
I apologize that I do not have more information for you regarding this.
If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you.
Thanks for using Steam,
Cole"
I think it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this company left all the people outside the US/EU/UK without any information regarding this and still have no real response of the than "no idea"
Not impressed.
Yeah, seems common for some US companies to have issues with shipping.
Strangely it only happens with some, others have no problems at all shipping me even 1L of 200mg/ml nicotine base for my E-Liquids from the US and I also never ever encountered someone not shipping me something on AliExpress.
It's easy, I can only purchase something if they ship it to me and vendors that refuse to ship to me are totally irrelevant.
I'm a global customer and so I expect stores and companies to be globalised and shipping everywhere and anywhere. As an example AliExpress is globalised, but Amazon isn't and it looks like Valve also isn't. In a globalised world such isolationism is very bad for business.
