black borders on games

i can play some games but some others have a black border and the places where you have to press like via the setttings in the game is set back behind it. pls help.

Hmm, what GPU do you have?

NVIDIA: Right click on desktop > Click NVIDIA Control Panel > Under the 'Display' tab select 'Adjust desktop size and position' > Under the 'Scaling' tab select 'Full-screen' and check the 'Override the scaling mode set by games and programs' box.

I don't have AMD and never used it so I can't help with that one.

If you have an integrated Intel graphics: Right click on desktop > Click Intel HD Graphics Control Panel > Find the Graphics Properties tab and select the scaling mode and change to full-screen.

Side idea, Steam settings>Delete Steam Downloads cach. Restarts Steam with login required.
Steam settings>web browser>delete web browser cache.

Not "RIP". Instead, check your AMD configuration app for the same setting.
Well, that or run the game at your native dsktop resolution.

sorry :(.i right clicked on the game, pressed launch options and did -w (screen resolution which mine is 1366 768). -h 768.then i clicked ok and close then i launched the game and kablamo it was fixed.

That uppert part of your laptop, the lid which you can close to cover the keys when traveling and open to SEE anything, that's the monitor. Or, if you want to be anal retentive, you're right and it's not the monitor. So set the game to run on the native aspect ratio of your SCREEN.
