How do equalizer works ?

I just bought a usb headset and it came with a driver and a software to change the headset settings and in the software it has an equalizer for the headset.There is 5 slider the first slider its for 60hz, second slider is 300hz, third slider 1200hz, fourth slider is 3600hz and the last slider is 12000hz and i can slide it from inf, -12db, -9db, -6db, -3db, 0db and up to 12db.How do i set this up to gain an advantage in gaming or have a better sounds for music

Whats the brand name of the headsets.
Equlizers can be good mainly for adding bass and some clearer sounds but its only as good as the source material.

I dont think messing with EQ settings will give you an advantage in gaming, just make sure your left and right channels are properly set up

Equalizer won't give you any advantage in game.
It's best to be used for music.
If you want to use it, just play some music and start messing with sliders until you get sound that you like the most.
There's no perfect equalizer settings. Different settings are better for different types of music. And there's also personal preference. Two different persons will like two different equalizer settings.

For games, nothing much will change.
You can still mess with settings if you want some stuff to sound a little bit different.

It should have a booklet that shows the equalizer and has 5 bars you can scroll up and down to adjust pitch base when testing on some music. and explains it.

You could also use your Realtek HD audio manager if you using windows to add more sound perks.
Rightclick the red speaker icon on your taskbar rightside. bottom near your clock. select Sound manager

also why i dont have enhancement tab in my microphone properties ? is it because its usb ?
