Steam blocks the screensaver and "turning off the display". How to fix it?
Recently, i noticed that turning off the monitor after a specified period of inactivity does not work, the monitor is on all the time. By a simple experiment, i found out that the reason in the Steam launcher. When it is running, even if it is minimized to the system tray near the clock, the screensaver and turning off the display, don't activated anymore. How to get out of Steam, everything starts working normally. I tried to check with the powercfg / requests command, everything is clean, i.e. DISPLAY: no. SYSTEM: no. AWAYMODE: no. I tried to manually add the steam.exe and steamwebhelper.exe processes with the / requestsoverride command, of course it did not help. This is for all users now this happens (maybe it's a bug of the latest versions) or not, is it just for me? And how can i solve this problem? OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

write first (the game should be running!):
powercfg /requests

As a result, we get a list of processes, services and drivers that block the transition to power saving modes. Next, use the /requestsoverride command to fix these processes from the list. For example, for Firefox the command will look like this:
powercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS firefox.exe DISPLAY

Hello,
2. Type
powercfg -requestsoverride PROCESS steamwebhelper.exe DISPLAY
Well, if you want the screen to turn off even while the game is running, then you need to write the cs2 process instead of steamwebhelper.exe (I don’t know what it’s called, because I don’t play cs, look in the task manager).

Correct, I did it and it worked, thank you very much. I thought too about this comand to change it with cs2, but I was afraid of doing something bad, but no problem, I puted cs2.exe instead of steamwebhelper.exe and it worked just fine.

The command is: powercfg -requestsoverride PROCESS cs2.exe DISPLAY

And you can let CS2 open but you don't stay in CS2 with the screen, put the screen anywhere else but not in a game and the screen goes off.
