60FPS on a 50HZ tv
I want to hookup my computer to a new (yet to buy) TV, problem is: most televisions are 50HZ. Can someone tell me what happens to my stable 60 FPS (gaming) if I do that?

Do I get 50 FPS? Do I get screen tearing? Does it flip out? Or can I expect a smooth framerate?

I've asked this in multiple stores and online forums, but I can't get a clear answer. Hope I can get a little wiser over here.

Entirely depends on the particular model of TV. But most modern TVs use at least a 60Hz display.
Check if the TV has a game mode to cut down on input lag due to signal processing.

You're probably thinking in terms of old CRT-era TVs, whereas practically any even relatively modern flat-screen TV (regardless of its panel technology) will support a native 60 Hz mode.
ofc you can not get a clear answer , sure we are a new genration of people that has pc/plasma screen in clone or not , and use controller from pc to telly, but seen as general hardcore gamer then we are few, first of all you need to be sure of hdmi cable ( then as above say aslong telly can then its not a problem , unless game is past genration, but as i try to explan older games use old directx and was not work as it should with clone i could not even select 60hz on pc , then i remove the clone telly then game did go 60hz, again it did not make any sense, skyrim (oldrim work as it should ) so some older games can still be a issue in clone telly. but this has nothing to do with telly, just old software. as long telly can so 1080p i think it was then you should be okay , dont ask me about 4k , i dont think you should have issue there, but dont forget most telly work fine with consol so you should have np there. ( and dont forget monitor and telly is a output unit. most issue is with the consol /pc that cant keep up. ( can telly do blueray (3D or not should not be a issue, but it will not hurt you to include that. later you can get a player for it./glasses you will thank me for that.

but do notice ms update, dont forget gamers notice stuff like this , its same as monitor refresh rate , if i spot you faster on better monitor then you should be dead first.

tip dont forget to see telly at side many of them goes darker and not that good for playing games.

not sure if a youtube guide is there to explan stuff like this, also watchout for to big a screen can also be bad depend on distance / roomsize, same as sit at first row in theater, you actual dont see alot of things, ( well we all laugh at it, but use it for years is bad, not a good experience )

Thanks for all the input guys
Yet, no definitive answer :(

I guess the best thing I can do is order the damn thing and see how it pans out. If it doesn't work, I can always send it back.
Modern TVs are not limited to 50Hz any more.

Then why do all the technical specifics mention the frequency?

Which TV is this? Link it here.

It's 60HZ from the specs. You've mistaken the power input hz for the screen refresh rate.

Supported screen resolution:

Computer connections
up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz

Weird, 'cause it says 50 at my side.

Huh. Not sure then, when I clicked the link I had to translate the site, maybe that's why mine says 60hz?
I swear it reads 50HZ on my side.

Just opened the site without translating, it's def 60HZ.

This is just weird...

As I said... I'll order the damn thing and see how it works. Most people told me modern TV's don't have a problem with 60FPS so I'll guess take that for an answer.

If it fails, I can always send it back...

Yep. Should have no issue running at 60hz, enjoy. When you use it for gaming however, there's likely a game mode setting you'll want to turn on, it disables certain color correction settings that increase input lag.
