Disabling: Interface -> GPU Enabled Rendering In Web View = Problems
As a solution/alternative to the new Library UI lag I was having I disabled GPU Enabled Rendering In Web View under Interface in Settings. This initially appeared to solve the Library UI lag issue but now my mouse pointer arrow and insertion point don't line up correctly in Steam and it makes navigation with all of Steam really skewed so that it actually creates new problems which are even worse for me than the Library lag.

The original post was moved/removed/sent somewhere else. So the disabling GPU rendering solution works at the cost of creating new issues.

So I guess I'm back to the original problem. Weird. It seems like the new Library UI was in Beta and folks could try it out before it was implemented. Did nobody experience this lag before?

So if disabling GPU web view rendering sorta fixes the Library UI lag but creates other issues maybe that is a good point of reference to troubleshoot what is going on with the current Library UI update. Ideas?

The beta did get the update on that right after the library went live. So, it'll catch up when they push the first update for it.

Ah! Good news then! Thanks (again) Hotsauce! These interface issues are driving folks nuts even more than that scrollbar issues which I haven't noticed of late.

They (Steam) should sticky immediately -or even announcement- that they're aware of the new Library UI causing some lag for some people and are working on an update to help affected users.

I still think that actually already went live and we're looking at new bugs, as per this.

Which I suppose make your message still valid, bugs will be hunted down and squashed and find their way to the client when ready.

I suppose (in all fairness) to the Steam UI devs that they really cannot test out all client cfgs and going from a gfx rendered image-rich environment to forums/elsewhere more text driven would cause some discrepancies. I'm going to just put on my patience cap whilst I await newer updates.

An immediate fix in redrawing would be for people affected with the redrawing lag to just mouse over all the screen as it quickens the redrawing substantially. I have been doing exactly this and all the Library gfx and functionality of the new UI works after I've moved my mouse pointer all over the screen.
