How do I change my library layout?
How do I change my library layout?

Before the update I was able to:

- Access discussions of a game only by clicking the right mouse button.
- Access the store page of the game by clicking the right mouse button.

Now everything seems to be split up and I need to guide myself through several steps to get where I want to get.

It is very unpleasant.

Is there any way I can change the steam library layout somehow to how it was before?

Thank you in advance.

Now you don't have to right click anymore, and save yourself a click by clicking "Store Page" or "Discussions" directly, respectively.

Woohoo

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Hi,

when I click on store page I still have to type the name of the game in to the search field to find the storepage of the game.

Discussions also requires me to click on discussion, then click on the game and / or click on " more games " and then choose the game.

I am not a genius in maths, but the new layout definiteyl requires me to do more to get where I want to be than before.

I don't like it at all, is there any way I can set it back to the old layout ?

You could also just click the game in question, the view will then include links to the store page, discussions and more.

That's odd, both bring me to the the respective store and discussions page directly. It couldn't be shorter, it's just 1 click - well short of mindreading ;)

Where are you clicking that you need to search etc?

Smart move. Not ideal, but definitely better than what a previous poser has described.

Thank you.

Ah yes, that's where you went wrong. You have to select the game first. Glad it was clarified :)

Launch your games through the Gog launcher!

Who took my steam UI and turned it into Origin/Ubi/Epic/Trash?

It'd be one thing if they made this optional. Now they've made it mandatory.
Go wear your skinnyjeans and instagrams elsewhere and get off my lawn!

+1

the marked answer seems.... unsafe.
There have been similar Youtube videos with other Steam updates in the past that just straight cleaned up peoples inventories and stole passwords and other data.

But Steam has updates all the time. In the video, he states the .cfg file "prevents any updates to the Steam client". Isn't that going to be a problem when Steam has normal updates?

Yes, I can totally imagine the UI breaking apart over time and not being able to be used at all anymore. And missing out on all the new additions of course. Progress exists for a reason ;)

Not to mention installing files from a random third party is never a good idea, it's totally possible it's filled with malware.
