New UI slow, laggy, cluttered and lost functionality
If the goal was to move towards a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile style design where functionality and features were pruned in favor of ♥♥♥♥♥♥-friendly pretty pictures for the illiterate and moronic, MISSION ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ACCOMPLISHED. I seriously want to uninstall steam and change to an older version so I never have to see this trash layout again. It is the antithesis of good design, and whoever in Valve is in charge of producing this monstrosity should be thrown to the wolves.

The worst part is we have zero ability to block updates like this from happening. They rolled this out cause the only ones in the beta / on their precious Twitter were happily patting them on the back for this bad design. For people like me there's nothing I can do and I already have vision issues.

I can't tell what is and is not installed anymore and tabbing out of steam to look at the internet or to a discussions page is extremely lagging (I have a still strong rig, i7-4790k, 16 gigs ram, geforce1070, etcetc). This new thing is just bad and I can't get rid of it or stop it from performing poorly.

This burning dumpster fire of a UI eats as much as 35% of my CPU just by sitting there.

Less then 0,5% here on a midrange Ryzen 2600x.
About 4% when downloading games.

I really don't care for the "What's new" section every time I click on Library. I just want to see my library, not What's new.

It's also slow enough I could start a knitting project.

I tried the beta and pretty much everytime I changed tabs I had to restart steam cause it would just load a black screen. Almost made me uninstall steam all together and now it's forced...
