Date of birth on age-check pages

Hello.

My birth date is shown wrongly whenever I enter an age restricted page. It shows January 14th 1996 but my birth date is February 14th 1996. I guess I chose the wrong month by mistake when I created my account. A few weeks back I submitted a support ticket about this issue to steam and one of the agents reached me, advising that Clearing the browser cache in my steam client will resolve the issue. I cleared the cache and entered the correct date in several age check pages but After a few tries, it reverted back to January 14th. Is there a way change my birthdate info in steam's database.

using the correct birthday on that page is irrelevant. It means nothing. And is never really used as any sort of verification thing for your account. in fact most people just enter January 1st... and then pick a random year that makes them over 18 😛

Ignore it as it is actually not saved in the data base. It is saved locally and really doesn't matter what you put in there.

I just put January 1st 1990. I was not born January 1st 1990. It's not a big deal, just power through it, as annoying as it is.

The month never caches correctly for me, either. As said above, though, the exact date isn’t important.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts about this issue I became aware of during the recent summer sale. the age check is not important at all. the reason for my curiosity is the almost instant reversion to the former wrong date even after cache deletion(checked it three times) plus the steam support being unable to help on such trivial issue. as Fauxtronic said, most likely this is a client-sided bug.

It has never been a bug, it has most likely to do with the law that came in about saving personal info. Saving both dates would need you to give out a notice, Valve wanted to most likely skip that so it only saves the year.

They really don't care what date you put in.

I guess we all keep our wrong age. I have OCD and it's killing me everytime it pops up.
Is it possible to save it permanently and avoid to see it every single time a game is 18+?
