Did it work fine some time before? What did you do before the issue appeared?

hi

it takes to long to explain. but it doesnt even matter in the end. i just need to know how to restore the default settings, and everything will be fixed.
You know, most of the time before you have a clue to fix things, you should know the source of the issue

its a bluetooth problem. bro, i dont wanna write a huge wlal of text. i just wanna know how to reset my settings. do you know how or not?
I said it. I have the XOne controller, never had issues. But I guess I COULD help, if I only knew what went wrong. And I assume you do

This doesn't say much, except that it makes me assume that this is genuinely the controller issue. What makes you think it's all Steam's fault? Did you play non-Steam games?
Also, does the controller work correctly in wired connection?

Not to be mean, but I'll be straight here.

You ignore questions - you don't expect any help with that attitude. Maybe this conversation would give us both a single clue in solving the issue, never thought about it? Cuz you can never get a straight answer to a pretty non-trivial question that a minor number of people ask.
So okay, you don't care to tell the real story, I don't care to be helpful

I can give you tons of answers, they are all from Google search results

yes i used google for a couple hours. but i didnt find anything that works. do you know something?
Well...
Tell me if you played non-Steam games with the controller

no its a new windows installation. i only have hellblade and tomb raider installed
Okay, I suggest to try it out. You'd like to have a non-DRM game and start it when Steam is not running. See if the issue persists

i dont understand what you are trying to say? how does this help me?
Is this the Steam problem? How do you know that?

You still didn't say a thing about your BT issue. If the game supports your gamepad natively (and the XOne controller works in TR2013 as intended, from my experience), you shouldn't mess with configurations, hence the "Xbox configuration support" should be unchecked. You were not going to configure your controller buttons scheme, right?

Damn man, I'd really like to help you, I need you to stop sticking to the "answer or go away" rule. Would you like me to help you?

There is something else I can suggest. This tells you how to reset your Steam client:

Another thing: right-click on the game in your library, then "Edit Steam controller configuration", switch the template to "Gamepad". If the issue also persists outside games, goto Steam settings, Controller, Desktop configuration, and switch the template to "Disabled" (that's what I also use).

Write back with the results you've got, if you'll even read all of this till this point, and ACTUALLY try out my instructions

Oh, also look up for gamepad settings under your Windows preferences. If you type "gamepad" in your taskbar search (considering you're using W10), the first result should open the "Game Controllers" window. Take some time messing with everything you can do there, as well as calibrating your gamepad (if this even helps)

I didn't know your problem was with bluetooth. I don't suppose you know how to delete/reset profile for a wired controller?
the windows driver for the xbox one gamepad is buggy with bluetooth. it actually ruins your frametimes, believe it or not. i dont know how that is possible, but google will tell you more. i never imagined a gamepad can lower my FPS in games lol. anyway, the steam profile overrides the windows driver so that the gamepad can work bug free. and it worked fine for me at first. however, i changed / tried some settings which bugged my controller, random rumble feature and so on. thats why i wanted to know how to completely reset the steam profile, cause that would fix all of my problems.

but as i said, i dont need this anymore, since i bought an usb adapter thingy. so im not using bluetooth at all, therefore i dont need a steam profile anymore to kill the bluetooth bug.

but anyway, keep in mind that this thread is a year old. im not really up to date with these things anymore. maybe there is a way to reset the profile now. i have no idea. did you try your own suggestion that you posted above?

Blame me all you want for OP being unresponsive and estranged just because I'm getting annoying by asking them weird questions to get more information on the issue and actually offering some help. How do you all not see that? It could be anybody else on my place, also unfamiliar with their problem.

I hope it'll be a bit of a lesson for them, they would have a solution way earlier with a little nicer temper and interest on people's effort around them. Even though it's not as helpful as they expected because the issue is trickier naturally, isn't it valuable enough?

Anyway, to be honest, I didn't read through all your conversation, but from your latest reply I assume it's solved now. Appreciate your patience and responsiveness; even a one year old issue deserves some attention, and I'm glad someone paid some to help these guys out.
