Can't join a group I was previously denied to join

Some friends of mine created a private Steam group which I was invited to join. When I joined a guy who didn't know who I was denied the request. Now when I try to join the group there is no button to join it, only the message: "Your request to join was denied". How tf will I be able to join now with no join button.

Ask your friend to invite again.

Is there a way to invite people? If so, how? When I said invite I meant that he just sent me a link to the group.

Members of the group can send invite to people in their friendlist by clicking More in your profile and a drop down menu will appear, at the top there's an option saying Invite to join your group.
