Trading/selling Steam gift is this legit?

So bought a Don't Starve Together on sale and got an extra copy, my brother seemed like he did not want it so I was in a tough situation. I found out in the description that i could trade it, does it mean i could sell it on the market (for a cheaper price ofcourse)or trade it for another game? I'm pretty clueless and would like to know more about it.

1. No, you can not sell Steam gifts on the Steam marketplace.
2. No, you are not allowed to charge anything for a Steam gift item.

Ok so selling it is a nono but i saw in steam that you could exchange it which now confuses me (exchanging with other gifts and items it says)

If you have an inventory item, you can exchange it for other inventory item(s) with other Steam users.

Im so confused now, I need to baby step this into my brain slowly. SO how do you do that do u like talk to someone or like what?Im new here and havent been trading in a long time

Once upon a tinme, extra game copies were held in inventory. That has not been the case for a couple years.

You probably read something old from the sound of it. You could trade games once upon a time, but no longer.

Yes, you talk to someone. And if you don't dare to familiarize yourself with the trade function all by yourself, theres a support article on that.

Read what you just posted. The text is informational. I don't get why you go bonkers. It clearly states that you can't trade it now (which nicely fits the definition of a restriction).

Could it be that you do not read it all? Like the textdump from your gift, read that again and you will see "( Not Tradable ) Gifts become tradable 30 days after purchase. This gift will become tradable on 8 Jun @ 8:00am. " that should tell you all you need to know imo.

All right geezer im gonna run thorugh a very short question.all it says is that it becomes tradable at jun 8 8:00 AM, but it also says "ONLY TRADING is RESTRICTED" so what i want to know is what the heck is that its like cancelling the statement so which is which
