Do I appear as online even when I don't have Steam open?

If my current setting is to appear online when I'm using Steam, and I click the "X" button in the upper right corner of the launcher, will I appear offline? If not, would it work if I end its processes in Task Manager?

i mean, you are not online... why would it say you are online if you are not online?

if you click Close(X) its mean you still online.

but, if you click end task on task manager, its mean you offline.

and if you click invisible on the chat friends menu,its mean you are online , but you appear offline and can still chat.

Which Steam icon are you referring to?

The X in the top right just closes the window, like it's supposed to function. It doesn't exit Steam.

If you want to appear offline, you need to either set yourself as invisible or sign out of the friends network.

If you want to EXIT Steam, do it from the top left menu. Don't ever just terminate it with task manager.
