Steam Login History Question
Hey all

I was having a look at my Recent Login History page, just to look and see that everything was on the up-and-up, since I'd just recently found out about it. I see a few successful logins that are from locations that are near my actual city of residence, but not exactly there. Is it normal for the geo-location to fluctuate a little bit, maybe if a proxy server or a hop somewhere along the route is involved? I have SteamGuard, and it's never asked me to enter a code or notified me of a new login attempt when I wasn't expecting it to. Is everything here normal?

No, it’s not normal for it to fluctuate a bit - it’s normal for it fluctuate a lot.

Seriously, it’s the least accurate part of the Internet. If your login locations are kind of right then you’ve only got a mild case of the problem - it’s not unheard of for the location to actually be in another country.

Also, you don’t need a Steam Guard code to log in if you’ve saved your login credentials on the machine.

Good to know. And yeah, that's what I'm saying, I haven't gotten a Steam Guard notification for a new device that I didn't log into, so I figured it was probably nothing to worry about. Just wanted to be completely certain. Thank you :47_thumb_up:
