This phone number is associated with a Terms of Service violation

I have assigned my phone number to my main account and then i want to assign it to my smurf.
And now im getting the error ： We are unable to accept this phone number due to the following violations associated with it:
‘This phone number is associated with an account that has either been compromised or violated the Steam Terms of Service. If you believe this is in error, please contact Steam Support to resolve this alert.’
I only use this mobile number on my own account.When can I lift this restriction?
Or how can I contact customer service?

If this is your main account you have a VAC ban on it so that could be your issue. This account violated the TOS.

Yeah i'd definitely contact support. I know they will ban accounts with linked phone numbers, so they also might not allow you to make new accounts with a banned number. Only support can answer with certainty though.

if this account is your main account and you got a vac ban in csgo with it while you had your phone number associated with it, then you need to wait 3 or 6 months before you can use the phone number on a new account.

(i am actually not sure if it is 3 or 6 months and i can't see to find the source for this but i am certain it is one of the other.)

also: when you cheat in a game, you can't really call yourself a smurf now can you? you are obviously bad at the game hence the reason you cheat, a smurf is usually someone better than what their rank shows, in your case you are worse than the rank shown.

It was 3 months. The cooldown was removed when VACnet went live. It can be used on a new account right away.

How does a VAC ban affect my phone number?

VAC bans will be applied to all accounts sharing a phone number at the time of the infraction. Accounts that do not own the game the VAC ban is for will still receive a VAC ban and won't be able to purchase the game moving forward.

The phone number on the VAC banned account(s) will be suspended for three months and cannot be added to another account during this time. If the phone number is later added to an account that receives a VAC ban, the duration of its suspension will be extended.

There are no restrictions placed on phone numbers that were on an account when the account was VAC banned; phone numbers can immediately be used on new accounts.

I have this problem too, but it's because I used my old steam account, (I don't have access to the original info/ recovery info since it got lost on my old hard drive when I moved to a different country) so now the old steam account is locked. I can't unlock it. Does my case have the same amount of time to wait for my phone number to be unblocked from steam?
