Just quoting the part said on the website, bold, and underline the import part.
Imported data means your games, profile stats, game stats, and etc, not login details as login details were never stores on their servers to begin with, as stated by GoG.
How do you think that works, exactly? Magic?
This, I think, is what they mean when they talk about "a little knowledge being dangerous".
The steam TOS says you aren't allowed to share your password with people who are going to use your account. It's 100% fine to share it with sites for connecting.
There is nothing steam can do. They are an independent site and Steam has no control over them
