Workshop content downloading over and over after update
Is this happening to anyone else? My client updated today and since the update every time I log into steam it re-downloads every single workshop item I am subscribed to. Once I log off and then log back in, it downloads them again, and again and again. I was looking to see if anyone else posted about this but haven't seen anything. A bug? There are also new sections in the download area that show the same things. One section is called Workshop, the other is Completed. It is a bit annoying to download so many rimworld and cities skylines mods every time I start the client.

This is a discussion on Ark forums as well. Seems the maintenance borked some things for people. I had the same issue and decided to call it a night. Hopefully be fixed tomorrow can only hope though.

This is happening to me also. Started after the Tuesday (08/06) Steam update. And seems to repeat if I log-out and log-in to Steam.

I had like 44 RimWorld Workshop mods just deleted from my ...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100 folder [mod folder for RimWorld]. But when I go look at the mods in the RimWorld Workshop, I am still subscribed to them! When I unsubscribe to one of the deleted mods and re-subscribe to that same mid, Steam will download them again! Very strange and this should not be happening.

This also affects my other games I have Workshop mods for, like Empyrion Galactic Survival and SimAirport - yet I did not even play those games this evening.

Happening here as well with Civ VI and Master of Orion (the new one). Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

turning into a joke at this point, had ARK working, then had it crash, now i'm back to square one...

Yeah they seem to have messed something up bad. Launching any of my modded games causes steam to delete all mods from the file. Until that stops I can't see a way of fixing it.
Steam has even started trying to download mods I am no longer subscribed to.

Happening with American Truck Sim, Cities Skylines and CIV5 for me (seems to have left Skyrim alone for whatever reason). Whatever it is, it deleted about half of the downloaded mods for each game. Do a unsub/resub and it'll re-download all of the missing ones. But don't restart Steam or your computer cause it'll "lose" them (actually delete them locally) and you'll have to download them again. WTF Steam - fix your broke-ass update!
Any idea when this gets fixed?

Edit: for ther record, playing Conan Exiles (I see it's not game related though)

We've seen this issue in the workshop of rFactor 2 as well. It's still a bit hard to pinpoint but we seem to have issues mostly with workshop items that have limited visibility. I've also reported this on the developer discussion board to bring it to Valve's attention.

ok so the problem was the steam download cache if you have the mod download loop like i did, click steam/settings/downloads/ at the bottom click clear download cache and boom reinstall mods and ur good to go
