Can't run Half Life 2 with a playable fps

So i repaired my old computer which i think can handle older source games like HL2, Team Fortress 2 ( confirmed ) etc. But i get 10 fps on lowest settings.
Video Cards driver is up to date.
DirectX 11

Could you give more particulars on the specs, especially video card, CPU, and RAM? Also when you say you repaired it, what exactly did you do to repair it?

Go to the top of your steam library window and click HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION and paste the ENTIRE list here.

Just because a video card driver is up to date does not mean it's the RIGHT driver, by the way. Also make sure that you're MANUALLY updating or changing drivers, and not allowing your OS or even Steam to do it for you.

When you say "which you THINK can handle" ... it's entirely possible it cannot, but that would surprise the crap out of me, because most source games from that era run fine on pretty poor or old systems.

The power supply was burnt and the cpu fan broken. They were replaced and Windows 7 was installed.

I don't believe there's any way that could run it, given that it's video card (which isn't a card, it's an onboard chip set) doesn't even register on benchmarks? It can't run 3d well enough to game on.

That thing is from around 2007 and has an unbelievably miserable integrated video "chip".

You're going to need a graphics card for it. That VIA chip is only good enough to do basic 2D graphics at an acceptable rate.

Most likely, yeah. Any old GPU should be better by a landslide, though. If you don't want to spend more than $10, you probably won't have to.

Hard to say specifically, since it depends a lot on availability, but I would say anywhere from a GT 240 to a GTX 660 depending on how much you want to spend. If you're lucky maybe you can get your hands on some extra RAM at the same time, since you'll definitely need it for the modern web, at least.

Make sure your case and mainboard can take it and the PSU can power it if necessary.

Yeah I'd.... just leave that device to word processing and basic stuff. It's not at all meant as a 'good' computer, let alone for gaming.
