Second time opening Steam takes forever
When I boot up my computer, I launch steam and the login window pops up almost immediately. I log-in, everything's fine (so far as I can tell). However, if I were to exit out of Steam at any point and then launch it exactly the same way (or any other way for that matter), it takes about 10 minutes to pop up with with the login window. Any subsequent time after that, is also the same result.

What the heck is happening? The first launch has zero issues. It's just this post-first launch has this gigantic delay in loading everything. I've uninstalled Steam a few times with no change in its behavior.

On another note, when I open the controller settings in my Steam, it immediately crashes. The first time it crashed from this issue is how I discovered this taking forever to open issue that this post is about. The controller settings is a separate issue I will tackle at a later time. This seems far more troublesome to me. However, if anyone thinks the two are related, let me know.

Thanks for any assistance!

Could try Steam beta out see if that any better.

Steam > Settings > account > change button and opt-in to Steam beta.

Ya know, it's funny you mention that, when I first discovered this problem I was in the Steam Beta, and many sources suggested I get out of the Beta to maybe fix it. It did not. Maybe switching back in could? I don't know. I'll try it in a bit and let ya know what happens.

UPDATE: Just tried to enroll back into the beta and my steam crashed.

Settings -> Account -> Beta

Is what I did to get to where it crashed. Clicking on the Beta button made it crash. I eventually just killed the program because it was taking forever to even close out of itself. Sat and waited for a good 5-10 minutes.

I'm having the same issue, with both beta and live.

then i can suggest reintalling it.
1. Move the "Steamapp" folder to a safe place outside the "steam" folder.
2. Uninstall, and ensure to delete the "steam" folder if still remaining after uninstall.
3. Reinstall Steam, then place "steamapp" folder back where it belong, then test.
