How to install steam workshop mods to Skyrim SE
I've been trying to figure this out for a while now. I've watched videos, Checked the forms, everything, but nothing installs. People say that it's in the top right corner of the launch menu when starting the game, but nothing is there. I've unsubscribed and subscribed. But that doesn't work, I've even tried restarting my computer. I know this is an older question but I believe it needs to be answered again.

Steam workshop is for old skyrim.

You don't. There is the in-game mod system, but as with the workshop of old, I don't recommend it.
Let me get this straight, you have watched videos, you have checked forums and everything else, and yet, somehow, you did not see anywhere that SSE does not have workshop mods for it?

Absolutely amazing.

As others have mentioned, there is no workshop for Skyrim SE mods. Your best bet is nexus. Bethesda.net has mods, but it never seems to cooperate for me.

There is a mod manager https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/ And on the same site there are tons of mods.

You can but its a lot of work and you also need Oldrim.
Download the mod for oldrim from workshop, then move it to SE load up the SE Creation Kit open and save the mod, then you have to convert the textures, meshes but there is a program for that

Yeah, it's better, and simpler, to just use the Nexus.

Some workshop mods will work with SSE with no problem. I am using seven workshop mods that I have had for years with SSE with no problems. However these are very simple mods that only add an object like a ring to the game and are not scripted

So it entirely depends on the mod, some will work right off, some will work by loading and saving in the CK, some will work as Happy said, and a lot will not work at all and you will just have to wait for the mod author to convert them and put them on Nexus as there is no workshop for SSE.

For Skyrim SE use Nexus for Mods (for that matter use it for regular Skyrim as well). There are 3 or 4 Bethesda Mods that I like and always use and I dl them right from the SSE start up menu (Creation Club is also right there). That being said, use Nexus for the best selection of Mods, there's a ton of them there. I would use Vortex as my mod manager if I were you. Vortex is pretty easy and you may as well start learning it now since it will probably be the most popular Mod Manager going forward, it's also the one Nexus promotes. Learn as you go because it's not that difficult if you go slow. Read as much as you can about each mod and google is your best friend. Enjoy!

There's no need to quote a post in a thread dead for a year and a half, especially when you weren't involved in it in the first place.

Just curious since it was dragged out anyways.
Did you go with the Mods section in-game or Nexus?

I did. at the time my dad didnt know what mods were so I couldn't go to the Nexus so I would have to sneak my way into the in game ones and download what I could. I started growing a pair and also snuck to Nexus to grab actually good mods. well, Inigo and a few others in game were good. but most of the mods there were pretty ♥♥♥♥. I look through the Nexus frequently now even though my computer only runs Skyrim at 10-20 frames a second

I was successful in getting the Varia Suit armor mod in the Steam workshop version, over to Skyrim SE. It took a a few minor esoteric steps and it actually ended up working.
