Steam launch window issue
I don't know how to name it but every time I launch steam I can't see the top border or the bar with the minimize, enlarge, and exit button. I can see the store when I launch steam, but I can't go to the games library so I have to search for a game in my computer to play it and the edges of the window are flickering. I uploaded a screenshot of it in my profile so please take take a look.

There appears to be nothing but anime in your screenshots & artwork.

Edit: Is the screenshot Private by accident?

It's there now, sorry for the delay.

Try pressing alt and enter simultaneously. What happens?

Nothing, the top and side edges are still flickering and the window is not enlarging.

Very interesting, it does look like one of those "detached" windows that can occur.

I just tried Alt+Enter, to throw the client into big picture mode, and Alt+Enter again to exit back to the standard client view.

Now when I click a link to a game in a post, it opens in the exact same detached window, with no menu bar / taskbar, rather than opening in the main client window.

Also, that window cannot be sent into Big Picture mode through Alt+Enter. Only the main client window seems to be able to do that.

Yeah only it occurs to me always during the past few weeks. Usually I'd just double click the top edge to enlarge the window and can access my games library and other things but this time and yesterday I tried double clicking the top part but it didn't enlarge.

I can see that yours seems to be missing the grey window border, where you could double click.

On Linux I can use Ctrl+Alt+ArrowKey to switch to a second (or more) desktop environment.

Is it possible that the main client window is still open on a secondary desktop?

(Sorry, my knowledge of Windows is over a decade out of date now.

The only other thing that I have seen after a quick search, is a similar *but NOT identical* issue on Windows 10 where the whole Steam client window was flickering. In those cases it looks like it was solved by disabling high DPI scaling in the Steam shortcut compatibility settings, or disabling text scaling in Windows entirely in the display settings.)

Good luck Akkey, it must be frustrating.

Okay so I tried one of your quick searches by changing my scaling to 100% instead of 125%, which is my laptop's default. It kinda worked, steam wasn't flickering anymore and I could see everything now. But the games are all not in fullscreen even when I set them to fullscreen mode in their in-game settings. I also tried changing the resolutions to fill the screen but still no positive results. Yeah it's kinda frustrating, to be honest. I'm looking through the net for some fixes, thanks for the quick searches you did for me, though.
