What happens to the EXP on a limited account?

I'd like to know what happens to the EXP from badges on a limited account when it becomes unlimited. When a user with a limited account does something that would normally grant them EXP, they don't gain any levels. Does this EXP get lost or do you receive the EXP when the limited account becomes unlimited?

For example, if I were to spend my points from the Steam Grand Prix on the Grand Prix Badge, would I get the EXP from this badge when I eventually spend more than 5 USD on Steam (when my account becomes unlimited) or would this EXP go lost?

These infos run independently of each other, so as soon as an account gets unlimited, it receives the experience and levels for all the badges it owns.
