Always 500 Internal Server Error (nginx)
Hello,

In the past three weeks I always often get a 500 Internal Server Error on Steam mainly when I edit my profile and also in the steam store and the community market. Is this an error from Steam or do I can I do something about it? It also tried using the store or editing my profile in my browser and it didn't help also switching to a different computer did not help. I highly doubt that I can do much about it but it really is annoying. Please give me tips if you had something similar and maybe tell me if you have similar issues.

happening to me too, 9 times out of 10 whenever i try to edit my profile it gives me that error and also refuses to let me change my profile picture. tried it on the launcher, website, and app, didn't work anywhere so it's obviously a problem on their end. but it looks like they'd rather keep their dumb corgi race going than actually fix their servers.

also on an unrelated note steam is refusing to refund a game they said i could run without problems that turned out more or less unplayable when i had no problems getting refunds in the past.

basically, steam is going downhill really, really fast.

begone, shill, this topic isn't to debate that. it's to bring attention to the fact that steam needs to fix their servers.

They do need to fix their servers, but I don't see how the occasional technical difficulty, especially one that doesn't seem to impact any core functionality (at least for me), means that "steam is going downhill really, really fast".

Same error, came here trying to edit my profile. I also haven't had any access to the grandprix since the 27th and steam support have done absolutely nothing.

Oh well it is sad to hear that Valve doesn't care. Even if I knew that already but it's still sad to hear Valve go down so much.

That's odd. I also get an occasional internal server error except my error-code is 502 and not 500. Semi-rare that it happens but in which case, usually all you need to do is refresh the page and it'll load just fine.
This started happen to me at about the same rate as the FRIENDS NETWORK stopped working for practically all time.

You could try, but it sounds like error code 500 doesn't let any of you people reach the page whatever you try and do.
At least with error code 502 which is what I am encountering, I can actually get past the problem and reach the page I am trying to access, by refreshing with the revolving arrow next to the padlock.

I'm also experiencing the same problem.

I try to change my profile picture, change artwork, change my description, and I will always be lead to the internal server error notification.

The same problem persists no matter where I access Steam. ( PC / iOS Steam / Steam Chat )
