Either that, or Steam is being really super slow, but... why would you send that much in one go?
No scam involved, the gems are in limbo somewhere I think but I can't get any item support from the support pages. And 5000 gems is like a dollar so not that much.
Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
Deauthorize all devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Change your password on a secure device.
Generate new back up codes. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Revoke the api key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
This scam works by you entering your credentials into a phishing site and getting hijacked without your knowledge. Any trades you make are then automatically declined and re-routed to a impersonating bot account. Trade history should confirm the item(s) going walkies to a random account.
I just need to find a way to make a support ticket for the incident.
Besides, how desperate would a site have be to scam 5000 gems ?
We see this happen daily and the fact you have the biggest phishing site going in your name history rings alarm bells.
Trades being cancelled randomly can also mean that the people controlling the trade via your API key deem it to be too low to hijack. That's another possibility. In the meantime, you should probably consider doing the above steps anyway to be on the safe side especially after using such a notorious site.
Hope the OP isn't affected but it does seem a possibility and I expect this concept will grow targeting only high value trades rather than all trades made.
