How do I find private message?
A developer responded to one of my forum posts via private message. I decided to reply to that later and closed the message, but now I cannot find that private message again? Please help

If you got a Community Message from a dev, go to the game file, and on the right side, scroll down to the bottom. You will see "Your Forum Account", a link for your post history, and a link for Community Messages. Click the "Community Message" link. It will open a list of any, including forums Warning, Bans, and private messages from Mods or Devs in a particular game forum.

As far as I am aware, there is no PM feature at Steam. I assume, you are talking about a chat message.
Did the person become your friend? Open the friend chat.
Are you in a group chat together? Double click the name in the channel.
I don't think, it was one of the more obscure ways to get into a direct chat like through trade messages or after a multiplayer game in certain games...
While I would not completely rule out, that developers do have additional ways to start a chat, I have not heard about it yet.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks for the help guys, IFIYGD the message was for a game that I don't own, therefore I couldn't find it by going to the game file. However, you gave me enough clues to find my way to the "Community Message" link under my forum account, and that is where I found the missing "private message". Thanks again, appreciate the guidance!

Necro'd because it's what came up first in search results and, currently, it's still relevant. Thanks for the info. Steam DOES have a private message feature (where developers can contact users) and I also didn't know where to find the message after I'd closed it since I'd never used the feature before.

If you are looking for your Community Messages, there is a link to them on the right side of this page, and also on the right side of every forum page including the game forum pages. Sometimes you will need to scroll down in order to find the link.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
