want to use steam mobile auth but it won't let me.
On my phone, I'm logged in and I go to where it says the email ting, and I click manage steam guard and change it to my phone. Then it tells me to download the app. I'm on the app... Why is it telling me that? Any ideas?

If it helps, I have it enabled on my phone for another account. Is that the issue?

Edit: What happens after I click the Steam guard mobile auth is it says
"Setup is done directly from your mobile device. If you haven't already, download the steam mobile app from the links below, then sign in and select steam guard for directions.

Can I transfer my authenticator to my new phone?

Yes, you can.

To transfer your authenticator to a new phone, you'll need access to the phone number associated with your account (so we can send you a text message to confirm it's you).

From the Steam Mobile app on your new device, try to log into your account. When the app asks for your authenticator code, select "Please help, I no longer have access to my Mobile Authenticator codes." Follow the steps the app provides and you can either transfer your authenticator to the new device or remove it from the previous device.

After transferring the authenticator, any new trades or market listings will be held for a couple of days to protect your items in case your authenticator is ever transferred by a malicious person. See our Trade Holds FAQ for more information about trade holds.

It isn't a new phone though. It's just a 2nd account.
Did you ever find out what was the problem? Its happening to me right now and i cant find a way to get it to work. (Sorry for bumping such an old thread)

yh my issue was having a multi account set up on one. can only be one auth'd at a time
