PS4 Controller wont be detected by other platforms (such as Uplay, Origin, Blizzard)

I'm not too sure what the issue is but basically when I connect my PS4 controller via Bluetooth, it shows it works for a second then stops when on a game such as For Honor on Uplay but then doesn't register after steam shows in the bottom right about "using configs from *account name*."

The only temporary fix i know is by plugging in a PS4 cable and connecting the controller via the cable. Help on this issue would be a massive as I've tried to look at other disscussions but there has been no clear answer to this.

Can't help you using Steam as I still don't use Steams PS4 controller support because it screws with my DS4 when using other platforms. I use DS4Windows with my DS4 controllers and never have an issue on other platforms.

If you choose to use DS4Windows remember that you will see XYAB prompts in games and not Square, Circle, Triangle and a Cross. Takes some time but you do get used to it. Before installing it Steam must be closed. In DS4 Windows you need to ensure the Hide DS4 option is selected in it's settings. Pair your controller. From now Steam must be closed before you load DS4windows otherwise they will fight for control. You don't need the controller connected but DS4Windows must be loaded before Steam. If Steam is already loaded close it before loading DS4Windows otherwise you will likely need to remove the wireless controller from windows devices and redo the pairing process each time.

I've never used DS4 before but i haven't had to because it has just worked in the past by just plugging it in. I just tested out what you said about completely closing steam and redoing the pairing process again and it connected fine. As soon as i turned on steam it stopped working. So your defo right about steam is fighting over control of the controller, but surely there is something within the settings that can change this but i'm clueless to what.

Yeah I have no idea, if or how, we could stop Steam hijacking it. That's why I'm reluctant to stop using DS4Windows......why fix something that isn't broken

At the moment i've been playing with the controller settings while i have for honor loaded and it seems when you deselect all the settings then turn the controller off then on it registers with for honor. As soon as i touch steam it messes up the controller and doesn't register.
