PS4 v1 vs v2 Controllers

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with using steam PS4 controller support with Minecraft Bedrock (Windows 10) Edition (MCBE).

I can use v1 controllers with MCBE and it will function perfectly. It does show the Xbox controls but that is fine.

However, I get nothing using v2 PS4 controllers.

I also ran into some differences in the way these two controllers were treated with steam on Linux as well.

My questions are thus:
1) Because MCBE is a windows store app, does steam's controller support have anything to do with it working or not with MCBE? I think it may since MCBE is showing Xbox controller for V1, which makes me think the v1 is emulating an Xbox controller which Steam would do.

2) is there a difference is how Steam treats the two and is there a way to have it treat v2 as a v1 controller so somethings can be worked around?
