F1 2019 is 80GB, how is 20 "most of the game". it's probably just a day one patch.
I would like to install the game from the DVDs received, the game has not even launched yet, cannot see how there could be 24GB of updates already, and even if there are 24GB of updates I am sure there must be a way to isntall from the install media (4 x 8.4GB DVDs in the packet) and then have the option to update afterwards.
Thanks.
This has been true of storebought copies of games for the last 15 years.
Read and following instructions provided in post #1
24GB+ of updates
Games burnt on retail discs are out of date while they are being burnt on to them. The version that get burnt is a stable version but while that is happening the game is still being updated. For example new Art work, new code and fixes. These discs could have versions that are several months out of date by the time they reach a retailer.
So it is still an advantage to but the DVD copy as the download would still be way less than doing a full download of an online purchase?
Thanks, makes sense, but still surprised that one cannot first install the "stable copy" on the shipped DVDs and then do any mandatory updates afterwards :)
Plus installing from DVD's can take much longer than downloading. Depending on a users internet speed, of course.
The disc doesn't contain all the game files and subsequent updates since it was produced.
