I've always wondered, what does the "1" at the end of "Estimated total" mean? Might be a dumb question, but I honestly don't know.

In future [1] or a smaller 1 above or below the other letters (called superscript and subscript respectively such as in the image) are used to reference text included outside the main body typically at the end of the page or document.

Taking that information you look for the bit that says: "1" then text later and that is a caveat, reference document or additional information that was excluded from the main body for brevity.
