"Boop boop boop" sound plays, like peripheral disconnecting, and then my games crash
So far, I've had this happen with two different games - Dayz and Remnant: From the Ashes - so I know it's not an issue with the particular game.

What happens is, while playing I'll hear the Windows sound that plays whenever a peripheral like a gamepad disconnects. It's a descending "boop boop boop" noise. But I'm not sure what is being disconnected, or why the sound plays.

Then my game instantly crashes. It doesn't happen again after that, not until I load another game or wait a while, so is something in the background randomly disconnecting during games??

Anyone have this happen before?

Check your hard drive. When that has happened *for me* (I can't speak for any other) it's because the drive I'm using has for whatever stupid reason ejected itself. Check your headphones / speakers, if there are any other input devices than you're using (if you use a mouse, make sure that your controllers or stylus for art tablets are disabled), and any external usb hubs or devices that you've got attached via usb.

It may be that the drive your game OR your game's data is on, is disconnecting. Which can mean something as nasty as a drive failure, or as simple as 'plug that drive in another port'.

Hopefully it's something very easy.
