Are Skins safe?

I just downloaded a TF2 Red Team skin for Steam. Are they safe and how do you install them?

If it's in the Steam workshop, it's 100% legit and fine to use.

Anywhere else? Be wary as skin changers (those which give you 'free' versions of what should be earned or paid for in game) may cause bans.

And no, there's no Workshop for it.

Although, I'd imagine a TF2 one would be obsolete anyway. I use PixelVision 2.

You copy the unpacked skin folder into C:\...\Steam\skins

Select them under Steam - Settings - Interface - Skin

Been using a Steam skin for years and never had any problems...except when Steam updates then you have to wait for the skin to get an update.

Ahhh you mean a CLIENT skin. Sorry, you said TF2 and basically 'skin' and 'tf2' to me mean 'character skins'. My mistake!

Yeah Steam client skins are safe. Just make sure you know what are doing when installing them. Make sure to get them from a safe source too.
