Is communist symbolism allowed on Steam?
Obviously far right symbolism and imagery is not allowed on Steam but what about far left symbolism and imagery? is that also not allowed and if not (I'm assuming not because that makes sense) why does the group below exist that encourages their users to put the hammer and sickle into their members steam user names?

If it is allowed on what grounds is one kind of extremism ok and the other not?

Avatars are very visible throughout the community such as in games and the forums, so the rules are more strictly applied; groups exist more on the side. You can certainly report groups that you think are in violation of the rules.

Irrelevant (however both killed a mass of people fyi), both kinds of groups are run by edgy teenagers on Steam sitting in plush bedrooms playing computer games their parents paid for.

The point again is that if one is bad (and it is) then the other should also be bad and especially when they are pushing their ideology this blatantly that they demand their users put the symbols into their user names for everyone to see.

ok then lets put usa and their simbolism on same level then.

Countries are irrelevant, far left and far right nonsense being on Steam are what we are talking about. I'm mainly asking what the rules are before I start reporting people and groups for using this kind of hateful symbolism on Steam.

You seem to have a little too much time on your hands. Unlike you, no one in that group is being nasty or attacking people, they're just playing Garry's mod from what I can see.

The only person risking a ban here is you and your abusive fingers, go and take a walk.

Or I will report YOU,

I don't care how nice they are, again that is irrelevant. I want to know what the policy is.

Also yes I do have plenty of time.

Feel free to report me, I'm not 12 so using that kind of playschool threat is laughable.

Here's the only policy that concerns you.

No Backseat Moderating
Let the moderators do the moderating. Backseat moderating is when people who are not moderators try to enforce the forum rules. If you see a person breaking the rules, take advantage of the Report () button or simply ignore the offensive post(s), thread, or review.

Report the group if you want to, then move on.

I'm asking a question (from the moderators) before I start reporting these people, there is no need for you to be so upset. Go and take a walk.

I don't think you'll ever get Valve to point exactly what you should/may not post, you have this.

Content Rules
Do not post any content on Steam containing the following:

Porn, inappropriate or offensive content, warez or leaked content or anything else not safe for work
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4045-USHJ-3810

If something is reported, this is what you should remember.
Please note that Administrators/Moderators reserve the right to change/edit/delete/move/merge any content at any time if they feel it is inappropriate, abusive, or incorrectly categorized.

Why post any of them at all? and if someone does and you feel it's wrong you can report it.

I'll see what they say then, more than anything I think it's laughable that a group such as this is indoctrinating people on Steam and demanding they put symbols in their user names as a requirement for joining.

All you can do is report it and let Valve take a look, other than that ignore/move on.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I never knew Steam was against imagery of certain groups. I've been in plenty of CSGO matches where users have swastikas, hammer + sickle, etc. I know in csgo you can hide players names and profile pictures so this might help you. Other than that you could just try and ignore them? That works for me. Generally not letting others frustrate you is the most helpful advice I could give you.
