My Steam Videos not playing all of a sudden
I have 168 items in my Video section. I have noticed since yesterday that when I click on these videos they don't play but rather give me an error message: "An error occurred. Please try again later", followed by each video's Playback ID.

I first noticed this when I sent the link to my latest video to some of my Steam friends and they were not all able to play the video, also getting this error message. Some were able to watch the video when they click on the links, but most not. When I play these videos directly on YouTube there is no problem, they run as they should. But as soon as I paste the (direct) YouTube link or the Steam link in a Steam friend's chat window, it mostly does not work for the recipient. Very annoying.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

"Hangs head"
Time to contact support dont you think?
https://help.steampowered.com/en/

We probably did more testing than they could.
They may also just ask you to uninstall Steam if you consider that please back up your Steam folder first. All your saves screenshots there.

Maybe just wait till tomorrow. Sometimes shutting down Steam and the computer over night rests it cools things down.
The fact it just started after the update/
But not all video?
Are you using the beta version?
Sorry guys I'm out of ideas.

:) There are "better" and "worse" versions? Steam updates every time I start it up and sometimes asks to be updated during the day. That's all I know about.

Well, I commend you for trying to help out for 5 straight HOURS! Thank you so so much. I will update the thread as I go. You are a star, Jaunitta. Thank you.

Oh, OK, I see you wrote "beta version" haha. No, I'm not using that.

Ah I was thinking the same 'Beta' version. You know what, IDK I'm just using standard Steam as far as I know.

Jaunitta, I think you have done more than enough and I know we both appreciate your efforts and you really know what you are talking about. There are still a couple of things that I could try (as suggested) but will take it step by step. It's still all a mystery and especially because mine has changed even today from one thing or another. Thanks again and if anything happens/changes I'm sure we will both let you know.
Thankyou Redback. All the best with it

You're not alone here, btw, Henrimagne. It began happening to me a couple weeks ago. All of the sudden, every video that I click on from a game's store page sits there for a few seconds and then gives that error and video ID code. Highly annoying when I'm trying to find out about a game. If I go find the same video on Youtube itself, it works fine. I've cleaned the browser cache and restarted Steam multiple times, and disabled GPU acceleration.

When I first went in and cleared the cache, one of the videos finally played...for about 15 seconds and then it gave me the error again.

If you dax the nibblenar then backface trace the zipcore you should be able to correct the wexlehaggenfraselnixtube.

@gamerduddle
I already daxed, weabled and fluxed the nibblenar (as well as double-haggled the grabbanab). The zipcore refuses to re-aquire the dandilube, while the wexlehaggenfraselnixtube repeatedly daisy-link the commoncore, resulting in an unwanted screwmajigger. But thanks for trying.

Yes, very annoying. Several other people have the same issue. It has not been resolved yet. Appears to be an issue with Steam alone. It started after Steam updated its look.

Cant be Steam alone as all video work for me and the majority of Steam members,
Must be in the user end. Maybe hardware is getting outdated?
Are you all running windows 10?
I'm running windows 7 x64 prof.
Windows 10 may require some codecs.
Whats your default player?
The format of the videos in Steam broadcasting is mpeg.
Some maybe using a flash base and windows 10 is killing off flash.
If you want to troubleshoot it try installing a media player such the open source media player classic_be it will give you the codecs for mpeg.
I have used it as my default media player for 10 years.
make it default.
