My Steam Videos not playing all of a sudden
I have 168 items in my Video section. I have noticed since yesterday that when I click on these videos they don't play but rather give me an error message: "An error occurred. Please try again later", followed by each video's Playback ID.

I first noticed this when I sent the link to my latest video to some of my Steam friends and they were not all able to play the video, also getting this error message. Some were able to watch the video when they click on the links, but most not. When I play these videos directly on YouTube there is no problem, they run as they should. But as soon as I paste the (direct) YouTube link or the Steam link in a Steam friend's chat window, it mostly does not work for the recipient. Very annoying.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Yes, the video worked. I checked 5 times.
As its your friends problem and not on your system you may just have to ask them to check for update for browser.
And delete steam web cache.
Exit Steam and restart.
Exit is fully shut off not just close it.
Use the Steam top left exit. Or r/click Steam boot loader and exit.
Could be a temporary glitch.

No, this isn't just the one friend this happens with. It happens with several friends as well as me.

And I already did all that.
I can view your videos on chrome on iOS 13

I’m trying them by going to your video sections via your profile. Are you trying to see your videos a different way? I do know that the “pop up” version does have some oddities for some thing (like unable to reply to comments)

Maybe give your system specs and that might show a common denominator

Yes that was my line of thinking as well did you see my suggestion to Disable GPU accelerated rendering in web view. You could also do this
Steam settings Library> tick low bandwidth mode
and tick low performance mode.
Ok
Just did the disable GPU accelerated rendering thing. Had a look at the chat window video link I sent Redback but still giving the error message. Before I disabled this though I had already noticed that I'm now able to watch most of the videos in my Steam library without the issue occurring.
One small step for mankind XD
1) Try to upload a video from your youtube
2) Did you just link your youtube account to steam when performing #1?

k
Yep.
But I still get the error message using the Steam chat window. I checked my video links to about 5 friends and also just copied and pasted a direct YT link to Redback. They still don't work.
well at least u can see your 168 videos, i won't restart steam for you
@Bait
I've been doing it like I've been doing it for years. I upload videos to YouTube and then link my Steam account to them several times a week these days. It's not a new thing to me. Nothing is different.
It alll just suddenly started 2 days ago. All of a sudden my friends could not watch my video links posted in their chat windows.
Process of elimination.
The YT link I posted in both you and Redback's profiles plays fine. how about you copy that YT link to Redbacks chat see if it works.
edit spelt Redback wrong

Sometimes the links do work, yes, but mostly not. Some of my friends said yes we watched the video no problem, some said no doesn't work. Will do that now.
When I play that same video of yours in Redback's chat window I get the error message. But when I play it in my profile page, it works.
