This. 95% of all games use the default Xbox Input layout, no matter what pad ( PS 4, Switch) you use.
Also the Switch Pro controller just gets recognized as a generic third party Xbox controller under Windows 7. Which makes sense, the Switch was not out when Win 7 got its last feature updates.
You will have to switch to Windows 10 if you want the Switch controller be recognized for what is it.
But like written above, in nearly every game it wont change that it will be used as a Xbox controller.
But i also bought an unofficial pro controller yesterday when i first connect on my pc (on win10) by usb it connected as "pro controller", but suddenly it changed to "xbox 360 controller for windows" and i don't know why (this also happens when I use a wireless connection with a dongle).
I started a game and the layout was like an xbox controller and Steam it also detects it as an xbox controller.
I managed to change the layout in Steam, but in the game it's still being recognized as an xbox controller, but now I have the switch pro controller layout, for example, the game recognizes the X and Y on the X and Y buttons on the Pro controller, but it has some differences like ZL and ZR buttons are called LT and RT
