Steam Trade Hold w/ guard enabled over 1 year
Ive just recently purchased a skin on lootbear, tried to withdraw the skin. Gives me and error saying partner has 15 hold days. Just to make sure i tried sending a gift to a friend, also says trade will be held for 15 days. The lootbear item doesnt even show up in my steam trade offers under inventory. So even if i WAS forced to wait 15 days, the process hasnt even started. Seems pretty silly an account that is upwards of 2 years old with guard enabled for over a year has to wait 15 whole days to get an item. This policy makes since for new users. But for an old user? Seems like you just want to lose business to me

Regardless of whether the account is new or old, the owner can still be tricked into a scam so having these policies in place help prevent those sort of things from happening.

You got email steam guard and
2fa steam guard.

Wich one you use?

To be fair, it exists moreso due to account theft whether it be via RATs or social engineering: help prevent item liquidation when said account is compromised. (There's a 7 day cooldown upon cancelling held trades precisely so that the end user can protect both their account and device in the meantime.)

You need to enable Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator and wait out the initial 7 days with it enabled for there to not be holds. Holds that occur due to your lack of SGMA are trades where both parties send items or where only you send items.

If you're getting a hold upon receiving an item, then either you too are sending something, or the site in question isn't telling you the full story - which isn't all that surprising, as these are not official sites to begin with.

Lootbear is a well trusted site, I do not see any reason for them to be lying. I have had Steam guard EMAIL enabled. So maybe its the lack of the mobile authenticator that is causing this. But as I said, Im not even getting an incoming trade offer whatsoever.,

Yeah, and try getting an incoming ONLY trade offer on Steam itself, that shouldn't be held unless the sender too lacks 2FA.

That's not how it works.

The issue was that amount of stupidity and scams that were taken place for years, everyone that has been on here forums, even support are getting headaches from the amount of stupidity and scams, due to how we would get upwards of 100+ posts per day about someone stupidity handed their items to someone.

When they started adding restrictions, those posts went from 100+ to 1 ~ 10 per day, as well the amount of tickets for support being made for trade issues because of scams, also plummeted, so it was a huge beneficial as it greatly reduce the amount of problems. Now people have made suggestions they want to take the risk of getting scam, the idea never going to happen, because when we had the option to double confirmation, the same people want to take the risk still went full on re****, and stupidity handed their items to someone, and came back crying to the forums, spamming tickets, and so on, which guess what, this is where we are today, due to the amount of stupidity of some people.

Now we can argue, that someone still going to go pass all those road blocks to get themselves scam no matter what, which is true, but this did in fact reduce the amount of problems, which was the point of it in the 1st place, it wasn't meant to be a permanent fix solution, this was to help give those a chance to help prevent from making a dumb mistake such as stupidity handed their items to someone.

To bypass the 15 days trade hold, both parties, meaning both people needs to have the mobile Authenticator app, which you can get on Android Google Play, IOS App store, or Windows mobile store.

- Apple

- Android

- If unable to use Google play for whatever reason click on white text under the apple and google play buttons, "Android users without access to Google Play can download version 2.3.9 here." you need to scroll down to see this.

Not by Steam, they're unaffiliated with Steam, they're a 3rd party that means, they're not held accountable for anything, so if you give them thing, and they ran off, they can do that, and there's nothing you can do to get your items back at all, as they do not work for, nor do they deal with Steam itself. They're like all those trading sites, so trust comes between you, and them, not Steam, as Steam always warn do not share details, nor should you just hands items to someone bilndly for your own safety.

Also to point out, if you didn't get any incoming trades, that means they didn't send you an trade offer, in order to get an incoming trade offer, they need to send you one, and you will see it, if not then that means they didn't send one. Go to your Item Inventory, click on blue button "Trade offers" then you see if you got incoming trades, or not.

I've seen about 4 scam victims from that site this week alone. 2 got burned by not getting what they paid for and another two who 'rented' (LOL) a skin, got phished by one of the sites bots and now have to pay 'compensation' for the 'lost' skin. Now the site gets paid off twice by getting their skin back and holding the user to ransom.

3rd party sites which sell skins cannot be trusted. Did you stop to consider that you may even be buying stolen and laundered skins? That's how people get unwittingly trade banned because Valve sees no money changing hands because it's all done on the 3rd party site - all they see is your account at the end of the laundering line receiving an item for 'free'.

Be more vigilant next time. Situations like these never end well.

yeah, same case. my phone is broke back then and i just barely buy a new one.
now i need to wait 7 days again.
i plan to sell my items that currently have high price and now bcs its delayed maybe ill lose 100$ profit. although my account is 7 years old and steamguard alr enable for a long time, its meaningless if your mobile guard isnt activated.

Did you have to get a new phone number? If not, then you did it the wrong way.

Look boys, i appreciate the help. I wouldnt dare send a valuable skim over to lootbear. I simply deposited money onto the site and purchased a 5 dollar awp skin. They do not steal skins. If the skin has been maliciously obtained by another user i wpuld understand the cause for concern. Their marketplace only deals in skins that are spld instantly to them . Yes, users can also outright sell their skins. But im pretty sure you must visit the profile. My skin came directly from them. They are a trusted company. As long as u take every precaution you should be absolutely fine. I have also heard those stories about people rented skins and getting fked in the end. I wpuldnt personally even take the chance. But i feel my purchase was okay. Its definitely the mobile authenticator. I assumed steak guard email would be the same but i suppose not. Thanks again for all the help. I completely understand why restrictions are imposed.l after reading an above explanation.

I see what you mean . i read somewhere that someome offered up a valuable for rent and it disappeared. The site is legit, amd many people who rent out their skins amd rent them have no issues. But the fact this kind of problem you explained occurs enough for me and you both to hear about it i feel like there needs to be an investigation into that. Seems 'phishy'. Ill be fine with the battle scarred 5 dollar awp atheris though. Just a test. Probably womt buy anything from this site again considering my steam restriction will be gone.
