Steam downloading games very slow..

I changed the setting to show speed in Mbps.. so this isn't a conversion issue...

My internet speed is 500 mbps, I often get those speeds or more on my computer. I am hardwired. I'm downloading games at 35 mbps or less.. constantly. I have never exceeded 150 mbps.. and that 150 was for a millisecond. The download also often just completely stops and then resumes a minute later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, six hours to download games is frustrating.

Try all download servers until you find one with speeds you are happy with.

There are over 130 to try.

Any server near me was slow as dirt. Nearest does not always equal faster.

Today, S. Korea was better for me. Yesterday, Sweden was better. Btw... I'm on the East Coast.

Looks like it's a popular issue, there are a heck lot of threads like this saying that Steam's download speed is slow.
