Should I buy games exclusively on Steam?
Hi. I've been using Steam for over a year now. I like some of the games on here. However, I don't like owning multiple accounts and want to keep my games in one place. However, there are games outside of Steam that I would like to have. It's really inconvenient to download multiple launchers just for one game. It's very difficult to organize library when I buy games from different services and there is no overlay. So which do you think is the better decision? Thanks

I mean it really does come down to a matter of personal preference, but the publishers choosing to set up stakes aren't doing anything particularly wrong.

One option is setting up auto-login and just having game shortcuts on your desktop, like it's 1995 again.

I prefer everything in steam, i just like having one place to review all my stuff. But alas the market is slowly segmenting.

Yeah Uplay really the only one that's of steam platform and once you have it set up you can just Auto log into your Ubisoft account:cozybethesda:

I'm still shocked Steam allowed that, it's clunky as all get out. Does Social Club force an app yet?

Buy the game on the platform that is is cheapest and just hope GoG or someone like that finally makes a swiss army version that runs all of them in one program.

I try to keep everything on steam, but I not to the point that it stops me from purchasing games not available on steam.

Just focus on whether you want a game or not.

I prefer one launcher, so for me it's not even in question.

I can wait for 'year long' exclusives from other sites, to come on Steam. I've got plenty of games to play in the meantime.

I won't change my habits and preferences. With the amount of games I own on Steam, it's out of the question. That and I don't support artificial hostage-situations created by somebody acting like he does

But it's up to you to decide.

My wallet belongs to Mr. Newell and the I've-got-everything-I-wished-for-even-a-bit-more company Valve.

pretty much your choice but yeah I have a few games on other platform like battle net , origin , uplay and gog too and I don't find having multiple launchers too much annoying.

(and most of the time you can add these games in your steam Library as non-steam games)

For me, its all games in one place and that place is Steam. I make an exception every now and then, but only for very special games, such as Giants or SWAT 4 on GoG.

There is no "better" decision. It's purely personal preference. If you like games that aren't on Steam, do you want to deny yourself those games? Answer that one and you have your answer.

Personally I simply add the games I purchase on GoG as non-Steam games to Steam. I don't care about the overlay, achievements and such things.

We do have Giants on Steam if we're talking about Giants: Citizen Kabuto.

I bought the Mass Effect Trilogy on Origin because I wanted it all in one place, despite owning 1 and 2 on STEAM.

I also purchased the Far Cry Gold pack over on Ubisoft as part of the gamescom sale. I wanted to pay less for it, but they didn't respond to that offer.

You guessed it, I owned Far Cry 1 and 2 on STEAM, and once again, didn't want a split.

Not too happy with those purchases, but Origin and uPlay have yet to screw me over.

I've bought nothing on "THAT" store, but I take their freebies when posted. finally removed Alan Wake from my wishlist here.

If I could have got them all on STEAM and never had to bother with their platforms, I would. But they aren't all available on STEAM, and that's just something I have to live with.
